Our Story

It all started in 2017...

David and Easton first met at Formlabs in 2017, where they were both hired onto G&A teams for the Somerville based 3-D printer manufacturing company. Easton was on the Office Ops team, and David worked on the IT team.

We met at 'WhiskyLabs'

Formlabs frequently hosted after work meetup groups, including "WhiskyLabs" - an interest group dedicated to tasting and comparing notes on fine and unusual bottles of whisky, scotch and bourbon.

...and became friends at FormLANs

FormLans was the after work meetup group dedicated to video games and gaming of all types. We would hang out once a month with our coworkers and play that month's featured game, try out new emerging VR tech, and explore all things technical with our fellow engineers and inquisitive minds.

Then in Berlin in 2019...

David had followed his Formlabs career to their Berlin office, where he was leading the Tech Ops team in the EU. Easton decided in spring of 2019 to go visit the Formlabs Berlin office to check it out, on her way to vacation in Prague with friends. We met up, David showed Easton the office, and convinced her to come hang out at his apartment after. She swears he was flirting with her then! David denies this and said he was just being nice :)

Fast forward to 2021...

David returned to the US shortly before the 2020 pandemic. While working remotely during the office closures, David and Easton kept in touch over their company messaging platform and continued to have many mutual friends. In 2021, both David and Easton found themselves at the office once again drinking whisky at their friend Joel's going away party. Joel- Easton's best friend at the time- pointed at David as he was leaving and told Easton, "go hang out with the nerds!" That night, David and Easton struck up a conversation about international immersive art experiences, their love of travel, and Easton's many plans for building immersive art experiences around Boston. David invited her over to his apartment in Cambridge to show and teach her a fractal generation software called Mandelbulber. When she got there, he had made a delicious dinner (jook and crispy tofu), with a bottle of wine. This was our "unofficial" first date!

From 2021, to Now

David and Easton quickly became inseparable, as their shared love of technologically driven art forms, good food, games, and music solidified their already strong friendship. We have since traveled to numerous immersive art spaces across the country and world, including Detroit, Las Vegas, New York, London, Texas, Philadelphia, and Western Massachusetts. In 2023, we also started our consulting company "Multidimensional Solutions" together, and have been growing Easton's small art business Holomorphia (formerly known as EastonStandard) to include many of David's emerging art forms in digital computational projection and generative AI. We currently aspire to open our own "art spa" one day, filled with interactive art exhibits geared towards personal wellness, relaxation, and community "third spaces."

We can't wait to celebrate with you!
